Yoga Therapy
Individualized 1:1 yoga therapy and focused small group yoga therapy available upon request.
What is a yoga therapy session like?
In your initial session, we will meet privately and take some time discussing your daily experience, health, challenges and needs. This first session will be a little longer and will help inform the next steps. Yoga therapy is not prescriptive. Each individual has a unique experience.
Following this, we will work together on a set of yoga techniques geared just for you and that you feel energized about. This may include (but is not limited to) postures, breath work, meditation, and self-inquiry techniques. This may have one or more components, depending your needs and preferences.
We end in deep relaxation. We believe that the skill of being able to deeply rest the body and calm the mind is integral to what yoga has to offer.
Does “C-IAYT” Matter?
We have an alphabet soup of letters behind our names; but what do these mean? C-IAYT designates a person as being an internationally certified yoga therapist. This certification through the International Association of Yoga Therapists that states that we meet their much higher standards of training and experience. Yoga therapy is a emerging profession and this is the first serious step in that process. So yes, it matters by way of real, usable training and experience.
